On Wednesday, October 23, 2013, Anita Sinner, Erika Hasebe-Ludt, Carl Leggo, and Adrian McKerracher spoke at a day-long, special event workshop at Concordia University (Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling, Faculty of Arts and Science), “Living Creatively: Life Writing Methods of Storytelling, Poetry and Photography”. Eleven author readings were given, exploring the emotional geography of the heart through a variety of lifewriting genres that had been presented in the book, A Heart of Wisdom: Life Writing as Empathetic Inquiry.
On Friday afternoon, April 25, 2014, The Faculty of Education at The University of Lethbridge celebrated two research books with a reading event organized by two U of L faculty, Drs. Erika Hasebe-Ludt and Cynthia Chambers. Also reading were fellow editors (Drs. Wanda Hurren, Carl Leggo, and Anita Sinner) and contributing authors (Christy Audet, Leah Fowler, Faye (for Hali) Heavy Shield, Bruce Hill, Candace Lewko, Janet Pletz, Jackie Seidel, and Michele Tanaka) of two publications, A Heart of Wisdom: Life Writing as Empathetic Inquiry and Contemplating Curriculum, in Markin Hall at the university.
